Weekend Activities

Well for a change I am fairly on top of my Blog postings... This past weekend Amy and I hosted a get together with Del/Dallas, Dave/Holly at Amy's place. It was a hoot! Wine, food and good friends, what more can you ask for? You can see some pics by clicking this link, enjoy!

Also on Saturday we attended Del's Redneck Birthday Party! Sadly we were the only ones who showed up with any type of Redneck apparel, thank goodness for bringing some spare stuff. Some pictures can be found here --> Del's Party!

Amy - Choir Performance

On the 13th I saw Amy perform with her choir at Michael J Fox Theatre in Burnaby. After a short dinner of sushi with Sheena (Amy's sister) and Giselle (Amy's friend), we arrived at the theatre to a fairly long line waiting to get in. After locating a good spot (for viewing and photos) we sat and waited for the performance to start.

The choir entered by coming from down from behind us, waiting to move onto the stage, as luck would have it Amy ended up right on the isle beside us (you looked killer baby!). When the choir started she was singing right there (could actually pick your voice out). They then moved onto the stage and started performing, I am not a religious guy but there was a lot of good singing and not much "preaching" so I did not feel out of place.

Some highlights:
  • The opening guy had an excellent voice, totally blew me away
  • The choir director is one high energy guy, man was entertaining himself :)
  • Lots of pictures
  • Cute kids getting up on stage to dance
  • Realized that I know a few religious songs
  • Amy was excellent!!!
If I can get some pictures loaded up I will update this post...

Update: Here is a pic! and here is the album

Kelowna Trip - Thanksgiving Long Weekend

Well I have been fairly slack on updates, but I figured I would get back on track :)

Oct 6-8th, 2007 I escaped the Lower Mainland with Amy to the sunny Okanagan (Kelowna) for a nice romantic weekend away. We stayed at the most awesome place called Acker Vaction Homes
They even upgraded us to a full 2 Bedroom suite, lots of room, access to the hot tub and a full kitchen. The best part, we were the only ones present!!! Needless to say Amy and I enjoyed the place, 5/5 Stars!!! Took some pictures but they are fairly large and similar to the ones on the site so send me a comment if you would like to see them.

We visited two major wineries on our trip (Mission Hill, Summer Hill) and enjoyed our tours/picture taking, couple little issues at the Goat Cheese place came up (like no Panni/Coffee bar and only one type of Panni) but it was interesting to try some different cheeses. I am positive that Gorgonzolla, Blue and other cheeses are not for me!!!

I enjoyed the weekend and it was indeed too short, we left on Monday noonish for back home to the Lower Mainland and dinner with Oma. Amy and I plan to return and I can say it was an excellent weekend (Love you Baby!!), will post pics when I get them uploaded.

Update: Pictures can be located here!!!

New Camera

Got to love Craigslist, I picked up a new (used) Canon EOS 10D 6.3 MP Digital SLR from a guy in Richmond. Yes, it is an older model but I am just getting serious in digital pictures, did not want to jump into $1200/$1500 camera body yet. Would rather spend coin on the lens first and get the hang of it prior to really going crazy. Here is a link to a great Digital Camera review site (linked to my Camera :) )

Soon as I get some good/interesting pics I will post them up for y'all to see.
