Continued from Pt1.
After we figured out how to get from one side of Merritt to the other (the bridge was under construction), we set off to checkout Logan Lake (note: My nephew is named Logan). One thing about traveling I like is getting to see or drive new routes, this one to Logan Lake was new, really in the high country up there. During our driving I got to spend some time with my Dad, I don't normally get to chat with him for lengths of time since he lives in Nanaimo, he knows the area well and it was good to talk to him about his thoughts and plans for next year. Anyway, side tracking aside we arrived in Logan Lake (I wonder how this town can support the amount of people we saw), holy smokes it was full of trailers, some houses and about 1000-1500 People I would think and one grocery store (not even a chain store). We toured through and saw a lot of trucker types and what looked to be miners (we thought the mine was not open). It really did not appeal to my Dad much (like not at all), so on we went to Kamloops.
About 10 mins outside of Logan Lake my Dad saw a moose crossing the road, neither of us have seen a moose in years, we both interpreted it as a good sign that his plan to move back to the area is a good one. This brings me to a point, lack of pics on this trip, I always thought that a camera in a cell is not that useful to me, well this trip proved to me that it is handy. Anyway we slowed down and the moose hopped over the deer fence on the opposite side of the road (so much for fences), I was going slow as I expected a baby or little moose to be following mommy moose, no such luck.
We arrived in Kamloops shortly before 12:00, thanks to my Dad for his directions into Kamloops we located the ReMax office in town (would have spent tons of time finding it) and met our second realtor for the day. She was excellent, no pressure, provided a lot of insight into the area (where we learned the mine is indeed open in Logan Lake) and printed out a lot of listings for my Dad to look over. While she was rattling off a couple of them Lilloet came up (I think I got that right Dad) as having a few good listings (I smell another trip come spring time). After saying our goodbyes we got back to the car and setup to head out on our next leg.
