Real Estate Run through Okanagan with Dad Pt.4

Final Leg: Merritt to Home via Hope-Princeton

This was a interesting leg, going down to Princeton via #3 and then home. Since I never drove this road I was excited, what would I see and experience? Well I can say the trip to Princeton was fun, it is a windy road but pretty slick/fun to drive, we got into Princeton ok and located a couple Real Estate offices (Century 21/Home Life) and stopped into C21, this is around 4PM, well the on-duty agent was not in (kinda hard to get info) but the manager would get her a message, in the mean time I asked where a good coffee/ice cream place was as I was in need of a snack (my Dad was too). We were directed to this cafe/ice cream place and I had Mango, Dad has a cherry type I think (was a bit ago). Prior to hearing from the C21 agent (And ice cream) we stopped into the Home Life agency (I am not blogging this fully) and it brought up some issues I have with Agents. The agent boasting how much they sell, how good they are etc. I do not care if you sell 100 more than someone else, you are not selling my place, we are looking to buy not sell, pay attention to what we are looking for and don't boast or put down anyone else. My Dad got a nice map of the area and a couple ?'s answered but I can guarantee we will not use that guy or his agency.

Anyway, after a quick text message to Amy (my lovely gf) we got back on the road heading for home... This started out as a good drive and really turned ugly for me... Since I have not driven this road prior I did not go pedal to the metal plus I wanted to see the area so I kept the speed in check. What happened thou scared me a lot, when I was driving with my sunglasses on over my regular glasses (they are wrap arounds, I did not wear my contacts due to the length of the drive), I would loose sight of the road when I went from light to dark shade till I was nearly upon the shaded area. This was very scary as I could not see what was coming up till I was right on it, I am nearly sure it was the sunglasses/reg glasses combo I was using but I needed something so I pushed through it, couple people were not happy behind me but screw them!

Later on the sun dipped and my vision improved 100% and I hit Manning Park and 4 lane highway! Was a sweet trip from then on to Hope, I enjoyed the drive a lot and will probably do it again with proper shades!

When we passed through Hope thou it was smoke/pollution city, we could hardly see the mountains. It was crazy!!!! Dad and I reflected then on the clear air, blue skies we saw today and really figured it was the best for him to get out of the Lower Mainland/Vancouver Island. We finally made to back to Frank's and I dropped my Dad off, I headed back home to meet up with Amy. When I got out of the car it looked like I drove through a wall of bugs, time to get my baby washed...

Summary:
Started: 6:20ishAM
Ended: 8:00PM
KMs: 875
Lots of nice sights, some vacation ideas, info on properties, some good agents, need for new shades but most of all, time spent bs/bitchin/chatting with my Dad...
