Blogging in the morning, hard to do without my cup of java.... anyway, here we go...
We left Kamloops approx around 12:45ish, heading back to Merritt through Quilechena (5A South if I recall correctly). On route out of town we saw this beautiful property on the left (had a coach house), man... easily 1 Mil or more... My Dad and I settled on the fact some CEO, Doctor or Lawyer had to live there, either way big money.... So a bit down the 5A we saw (well my Dad did) a Remax sign for a chunk of property (169 acres), sweet, so where in Vancouver on a major road can you stop, reverse and copy down information while not being hassled by on coming traffic! Anyway this brought a point from my Dad, I was bombing around these roads, I was looking but not taking in the sights as much as he was, decided then and there to watch my speed and look around a bit (this will come back to haunt me later). Continuing along 5A we saw Osprey, their nests and a Kestrel or two sitting on the phone/power lines, what a treat as we both recalled our couple of Kestrels we nursed back to health when we were younger living in "Bill's Puddle"...
After a bit we came into Quilechena, damn what a beautiful spot! If you like lakes, RV parking or a small hotel (so you do not need to rough it), this is a lovely spot to disconnect yourself from the world for a couple days (Next summer for sure Amy!!).
Once we got back into Merritt again we grabbed some lunch at McD's... ya, I know but I had their Philly Sandwich (not bad if you can deal with the cheese). We reviewed our plans and checked to see how much time we had and instead of heading back home via the Coq we figured a trip to Princeton would be good. As we dropped 15 bucks in the tank and got ready to head out, I had a concern that this leg may not go so well... but more on that in my next post...
